FC Motown Announces 2021 Assistant Coaches

Morristown NJ, March 30, 2021 - FC Motown announces the remaining coaches for the 2021 summer season.

Johnathan Lopuski played college soccer at Villanova University from 2001 to 2005. He was a four year starter and he played in every single collegiate game. Lopuski was a Big East Selection, Philadelphia Soccer 7 Selection and Mid Atlantic Regional All American.

After college, Lopuski signed his first professional developmental contract with the NY Redbulls in 2005. He was offered a long term contract with the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League (NASL). Lopuski played 34 games in two seasons with the Islanders before he was sidelined with injury prior to the playoffs in his second season. He returned home and started coaching in his hometown of Montville. He also continued to play locally in the Garden State League. He was an integral part of the Icon team that made it to the U.S. Open Cup. He was heavily involved in the travel youth programs and landed the varsity head coaching job at Montville High School for the boys program from 2009 to 2014, he coached his teams to 2 League Titles, 2 Morris County Titles, and 2 Group 3 State Sectional Championships. He finished with a record of 77-23-7 in five seasons.

Lopuski made a brief return to coaching and served as a volunteer assistant for the West Orange High School Boys Soccer program, who went 21-2 and won the League and Group 4 State Sectional Titles.

Since then Lopuski has stepped away from coaching to pursue his career outside of soccer.

“I feel like this is the right time and the opportunity is perfect. FC Motown is an ambitious club and I’ve known Sacir for a while now as both a great teammate and good friend. I feel regenerated and I’m excited to give him an extra set of eyes on the sidelines. I’m really looking forward to some positive memories.”

Angelo Jack joins FC Motown’s coaching ranks as a player coach for the summer 2021 season. Jack will be heavily involved in coaching and player development of the clubs newly founded USL2 program under Head Coach Alan McClintock. He will also play for the NPSL squad. Angelo has an extensive high level playing resume, he played in his native Trinidad prior to joining Essex County College and then went on to play at Tyler Junior College, in Texas and Bloomfield College, NJ.

He was a playing member of the New York Red Bulls Academy at various levels including U18, U20, U23 and reserves. He played in the PDL for Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the NPSL with FC Copa and since 2019 has been playing for FC Motown in the various competitions such as GSSL, Open Cup, NESL and NPSL.

As a coach Angelo has been building his resume and been involved with strong programs since 2012, he coached HS soccer with East Orange, College soccer with Essex County, Keystone, and Harcum, he has coached club soccer in the New York Red Bull Academy as an assistant, FC Copa, USL2 with Lehigh Valley United and is currently a coach with FC Delco.

Matthew Heitmann joins FC Motown for the Summer 2021 season, Heitmann will lead the USL2 reserve team which is in place to supplement the USL2 roster and provide opportunities for players to be part of Motown’s future. He will also provide support to USL2 Head Coach Alan McClintock as an assistant coach.

Coach Matt is in his 10th season as a member of the William Paterson men’s soccer coaching staff.

Heitmann (2007-10) was a standout in the Pioneer defensive third, earning selections to the 2010 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Team and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Atlantic All-Region Third Team, the 2009 All-NJAC Second Team and the 2008 All-NJAC Honorable Mention. While starting 73 of 77 career games he helped lead WP to the second round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Heitmann is the current owner of Sporting NJ FC a boy's youth soccer club in the Somerset area geared towards high school aged players preparing for college soccer. His coaching license includes USSF C License and National Diploma.
