NPSL: FC Motown loses home opener 3-2, vs West Chester United

The FC Motown Celtic’s and the Wester Chester United SC Predators are set to face-off again, this time in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
The Keystone Conference matchup will take place on Saturday May 21st, 2022, at Drew University at 7pm.
A contest that is rich in history as both clubs have gone head to head in some action-packed games this past few years. Including the recent Lamar Hunt Open Cup game on March 22nd, which was voided after an illegal substitution was ruled. The U.S. Open Cup Adjunction and Discipline Panel found that West Chester was permitted an illegal substitution by the referee. West Chester won the initial match, 3-2.
Motown and West Chester had to replay their initial match of the prestigious Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, due to the ruling. The rematch took place on April 1, where FC Motown won 1-0, scoring in the 90th minute to put them on top, late. Both teams have been a home for some of the area's top local talent. West Chester more recently having Aiden McFadden sign with Atlanta United and AJ Marrucci signed with New York Red Bulls.
In NPSL action, both teams have played 1, won 1. West Chester hosted FC Monmouth in game 1 of their NPSL season. Drexel forward Harrison Coron scoring both goals in a 2-1 win. FC Motown came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 away at Philadelphia Lonestar in their NPSL opener this past weekend.
