Bio: Our team captain for 2022, Cordeiro played at NJIT and coming out of college he spent some time in the New York Red Bull camp. A player the Motown ownership thinks fits perfectly into a team at a pro level. A midfielder who has proven he can do it all, coaching staff new and old often praise him for his ability to ‘hunt’ the ball down when out of possession. This year he has added big goals to his game scoring from outside and inside the box. A true midfielder that we are lucky to have on our side.
When did you join FC Motown?
- "I joined the 1st year Motown were in the NPSL, I signed for the Summer 2018 NPSL season. So have experienced a National Final with the club."
How did you end up at Motown?
- "Oliver (Papraniku) invited me to play with the group that summer."
When was your best ever Motown performance individually?
- "I think my best performance for Motown was versus Westchester United in the conference playoffs this year. That game had two top teams going at it for 120 minutes. They scored in extra time to make it 2-1 and I scored to take it to PK’s which we obviously won."
Your favorite Motown memory to date?
- "Best moment to date had to be Dilly Duka’s goal in the National Final in 2018. Drew University was packed and the place erupted when Dilly scored."
Describe the club to those who don’t know it.
- "Best amateur team in NJ!"
Saturday August 6th, 730pm. NPSL National Final at home…. Thoughts?
- "Saturday gives us a chance to solidify our place as one of the best amateur teams in NJ history. It's been an amazing season thus far with us winning the Garden State Soccer League title, our Open Cup run, winning the NPSL Conference & Region titles, to win the National championship would be an amazing achievement for everyone connected with the club all within one calendar year."
