Bio: Hackett is a former standout defender at William Paterson University and now an assistant coach with their program who was recognised at local and national levels - NJAC defensive player of the year in 2013 & 2104. Hackett came to Motown after his college career came to a close in 2014. He is a versatile player but played most of his Motown games as a right back. Athletic, mobile, good in the air and composed on the ball. He keeps grinding out high level performances year on year which is a credit to his dedication.
When did you join FC Motown?
- "I started playing for FC Motown back in 2015, seven years ago!"
How did you end up at Motown?
- "So I found out about Motown through some William Paterson University alum who played on the team. That was my connection to first joining the club."
When was your best ever Motown performance individually?
- "I would say the Open Cup game v Rochester Rhinos in 2017, it was a cool experience playing against a pro team."
Your favorite Motown memory to date?
- "Best moments are always the US Open Cup trips or really any trip where we traveled. I do, however, hope to top those experiences on Saturday by lifting the NPSL trophy after the great season we have had. "
Who has a place in your Motown Hall of Fame?
- "Sooo many players! Jean Voltaire, Saci Hot, Matt Nigro, Kene Eze, Julius James, Danny Cordeiro, Maxi Rodriguez, Anthony Ferrer, Dilly Duka, Dave Greczek, Zach Perez the list is endless with top local talent."
Describe the club to those who don’t know it.
- "FC Motown to me is a family."
Saturday August 6th, 7:30pm. NPSL National Final at home…. Thoughts?
- "Saturday's game to me is going to be another test. We have overcome a lot of adversity so it is nothing we cannot handle but we know we have to come ready to play from the start. After everything we have been through this year it would be the icing on the cake. We’ve gotten to the final in the past in 2018 and know what it feels like to be on the losing side. Saturday I know the boys will do anything and everything to not let that happen again. "
